We have wonderful regional fundraising groups working hard to support our work across the UK.
All of our groups do amazing things for Breast Cancer Now.
Their events are all a lot of fun and include afternoon teas, pink parties, horse rides, zumbathons, dog walks, masked balls, street collections, frock swaps, the list is endless! It all depends on what you enjoy doing.
Then there is the important role they play in raising awareness of breast cancer and being breast aware, and campaigning on our behalf. It’s a great way to meet new people in your area, or do something fun with your friends and family. You can use your existing skills and hopefully learn lots of new ones.
Cynthia, from The Pink Champaigners in Preston, shares with us why she created a volunteer group for Breast Cancer Now:
"I had finally retired and wanted to take on a more structured role for a charity."
"I lost two sisters to breast cancer in 2007 and another sister was affected in 2012, so my thoughts obviously turned to supporting a breast cancer charity."
"After hearing more about the charity, I was impressed with the way they involve groups and keep them informed about the difference their fundraising makes. We like the social aspect of being in a group and the motivation of planning events.
"We have a diverse group where each person brings different skills and ideas. We all feel Breast Cancer Now is good at keeping their supporters informed and making them feel that they are very much a part of the charity."
Last year, our existing volunteer groups raised a phenomenal £113,400 for our life-saving research - our best year yet!
If we all act now, by 2050, we believe everyone who develops breast cancer will live.
