Good luck from Breast Cancer Now!

Our researchers have a special message for all those taking part in the London Marathon this weekend.

Meet some of the Team Now runners

Sarah and Tim

Married couple Sarah and Tim have each run a lot of marathons in the past, but this one will be particularly poignant as it marks the one year anniversary of Sarah’s breast cancer diagnosis. Sarah and Tim love to run together (they even met at a running club!), but now with two children they rarely get the chance, so running this marathon will be a “rare treat”.

Emma

This time last year, Emma was coming to the end of her treatment for breast cancer. On Sunday, she'll be standing on the start line of the London Marathon. Emma says she's able to take on her marathon challenge now because someone else ran the hard miles and raised money in the past. In her recent blog for Breast Cancer Now, she told us she'll be staying motivated on the day.

Harry

Harry is running the London Marathon in memory of his mum Sarah. He has found training for the marathon much more gruelling than he imagined, but explains that it’s nothing compared to the gruelling treatment his mum had to go through. Harry's raising money for Breast Cancer Now via the Sarah Greene Tribute Fund.

“It’s something you never fully get over. I have some amazing memories which help, and I find keeping hold of and remembering these is the best way of moving forward - Mum was an incredible woman.

“It means the world to me to be able to represent Breast Cancer Now and to keep my mum's memory living on. I’ve supported friends who have run the London marathon in previous years, and was touched by the wonderful support and incredible atmosphere it generates”.
