We are sorry to announce that Student Adventures, the company that organises student fundraising trips for Breast Cancer Campaign and other charities, has gone into administration.
We received this information last night and have been working hard with other charities since to get clarity on the situation.
We have now managed to speak with the accountants, Smith Cooper, and they have updated us.
We have been provided with assurance that all students currently on or the midst of, the Inca trip to Peru will continue their trip as planned with no problems.
Unfortunately all future trips are cancelled, the most imminent of which is due to depart on 1 September 2014, and we strongly advise that no one seeks to continue with their travel plans. Travel would be at an individuals’ own risk and cost.
We advise all those affected by a cancelled trip to seek guidance from their travel insurance provider and to speak with ATOL, who Smith Cooper has made aware of the situation.
We are incredibly disappointed with this news and understand it will come as a huge blow to those expecting to travel shortly. Students have put incredible efforts into their fundraising to be able to go on the trip and to support vital breast cancer research.
The situation is still not completely clear and we will be continuing to investigate the full impact on the rights of those affected and the charity.
