Missed out on tickets to Wimbledon? Then why not enjoy all the action on Centre Court whilst hosting a Strawberry Tea party at home in your garden or at your local tennis club? The funds raised through the Strawberry Tea campaign which is sponsored by fine bone china teaware specialist Royal Albert will help support the thousands of women waking up to the harsh reality of breast cancer every day.

A Strawberry Tea doesn’t have to be complicated. Just invite some friends family or colleagues to watch Andy Murray defend his historic British title. Then spoil your guests with sweet treats add some strawberries keep the tea flowing and ask for a donation in return. It will be just like eating strawberries and cream on Murray Mound – but there’s no need to worry about the inevitable rain!

Gill says: “My 26-year-old daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago. She was put on a five year treatment programme and the family used Breast Cancer Care’s website for support. Holding a Strawberry Tea is my way of helping others facing this disease and I’ve held one for the last four years. I held my first Strawberry Tea at home and kept it simple. Over the years I’ve learnt what works and for the last two years hosted it at my local tennis club with 50 guests. We had a tennis tournament which was great fun!”

Breast Cancer Care is the only UK-wide breast cancer support charity. Its specialist nurses local services and emotional support network mean whenever a woman needs information support or just wants to hear a caring voice they are there to listen and respond.

Breast Cancer Care’s Strawberry Tea campaign runs from 1 June to 31 August. Order your free fundraising kit today at breastcancernow.org/strawberry or call 0870 164 9422.
