Jackie Harris Clinical Nurse Specialist for Breast Cancer Care said:

'This new research is further confirmation of an encouraging downward trend in breast cancer mortality. This is due to our increasing knowledge of the biology of breast cancer improved treatment options and earlier detection.

'At the same time though the incidence of breast cancer is rising and it is important for people to be breast aware and report any changes to their GP as soon as possible.
