You can now read our new briefing The outcomes and experiences of older women with breast cancer: driving progress in the new NHS. The new briefing is an update to our previous policy briefing Improving outcomes and experiences for older women with breast cancer. We were fortunate to be supported by several MPs who asked questions in Parliament that enabled us to gain insight into the parliamentary plans to address inequalities for older people with breast cancer when preparing this report. We have also ensured we highlight how our findings need to be addressed within the new NHS structures in England.

The outcomes and experiences of older women with breast cancer: driving progress in the new NHS

As you may have seen from previous blog posts we presented our earlier report to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Breast Cancer (APPGBC) in July. Following this the APPGBC decided to hold a Parliamentary Inquiry looking at older people and breast cancer. Our new report was submitted as evidence to the APPGBC inquiry highlighting where progress has been made and where more work is needed.

Although the report only makes recommendations for England we believe the findings are applicable in Wales and Scotland too.
