About the Virgin Money London Marathon

The Virgin Money London Marathon is the biggest fundraising event in the world, and truly is the experience of a lifetime!

Lined with hundreds of thousands of supporters, this famous route takes in many of London’s top sights, starting off in historical Greenwich and finishing in The Mall.

Whether this is your first big challenge or you’re a seasoned marathon runner, our experienced team at Breast Cancer Now will be with you every step of the way.

Team Now benefits

All Breast Cancer Now runners in the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon will receive access to our exclusive online Training Zone, a free Breast Cancer Now technical running vest and as much help as you need to help you reach your fundraising target.

On the day, we’ll be there screaming and cheering you on, with the loudest cheer points on the course. We'll also provide cheer sticks for your supporters so they can join us and do the same.

After the race, enjoy a free massage at our after-party, where there will be refreshments for you, and your friends and family to help you celebrate.

What do our Team Now members say?

My brother Tom and I are 100% committed to finding ways to stop breast cancer. The strength and bravery that our mum showed was so inspirational to us through our childhood and these traits still live on in us today. We take on these running challenges to try and do what we believe our mum would have wanted us to do, and that would not have been to take a backward step and be beaten by the sad time. She would have wanted us to get back up, brush ourselves down and realise that there are people who are still suffering from the impact of this disease that we can help.

So far we’ve raised nearly £10,000 to fund breast cancer research and the charity has always been extremely supportive and encouraging. Tom and I have the cause and memories we are running for that will mean that we never stop running!

London Classics

In 2017 London Marathon Events created the London Classics. The unique challenge requires participants to complete the London Marathon, the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 and the two-mile event at Swim Serpentine.

To qualify for the challenge, you must have completed the three events in any year. Everyone who completes them will be awarded a unique (and huge) medal and your name will also be added to the London Classics Hall of Fame. There are currently 569 members. Take a look!

Fancy joining them and doing something incredible?! Then contact our Challenge Events Team at events@breastcancernow.org or give them a call on 020 7025 2483 for more information.
