The coronavirus outbreak represents an unprecedented situation for all of us. It is having a huge impact on our ability to raise the money we need to continue providing the life-changing care and world-class research we know people affected by breast cancer need, especially right now.
We know that people affected by breast cancer, and in particular those going through treatment, are more likely to be identified in a higher risk group. Over the past week, we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of people calling our Helpline and emailing our specialist breast care nurses for trusted information, information they desperately need to understand how coronavirus could impact them and their treatment.
We are working night and day to find solutions that mean we can continue providing support for today and hope for the future. Like running our Helpline remotely for the first time, increasing the number of calls we can receive and turning some of our face-to-face support services – which we know provide a lifeline to many - into virtual experiences, and quickly.
But we can’t do it alone. We urgently need your help because people affected by breast cancer need us now.
Your support could be the difference
Your support could be the difference between us being able to provide a lifeline to people through our support services or not. The difference between people with breast cancer having someone to turn to or not. The difference between driving forward much-needed progress in research or not.
We rely entirely on the generosity of donations from people just like you, and much of our fundraising activity is currently unable to go ahead, which could have a devastating impact on our work both now and in the future.
At Breast Cancer Now we have a vision to create a future where everyone who develops breast cancer lives – and is supported to live well. If ever there was a time to get behind that vision, it is now.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support.
