Organising a funeral collection

Whether supporting Breast Cancer Now is a cause that was important to your loved one, or if it’s a cause close to your heart, we are so grateful for your support. It will be an honour to receive support in your loved one’s memory.

Funeral collections, memorial and celebration of life events are very special and meaningful ways to pay tribute to those we love, gone but not forgotten. Our In Memory team is here to support you in remembering your loved one.

Organising a collection online

One easy way you could organise a collection is to set up a tribute fund on our Fund in Memory website, in memory of your loved one. Funds offer a virtual way for you to come together easily with others to celebrate the life of your loved one and keep their memory alive.

When setting up a fund you can add photos and wording about your loved one and when you are ready you can share the link with family and friends. People can visit the fund at their convenience and leave a donation, a photo and message, if they wish.

Funds have no fundraising targets and they will remain on our website for you to visit as often or as little as you like.

Our Memory Giving team is here to support you in setting up and using the funds and are happy to answer any questions you might have. Please feel welcome to get in touch with Nancy Everson on 020 7960 3508 or send an email to fundinmemory@breastcanernow.org.

Visit our Fund in Memory website to find out more.

Ordering fundraising materials

We can send out materials to you ahead of the service or event.

If you would like us to send you fundraising materials please be aware it can take up to five working days to process orders, so giving us as much notice as you can will ensure materials arrive in time.

Items for your funeral collection

Gift Aid collection envelopes

Using Gift Aid envelopes can be an easy way for people donating to take advantage of the Gift Aid scheme, a government scheme that allows charities to claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated, at no extra cost to the donor.

The envelopes have space on the front if you wish to include wording on them. People can enclose a cash or cheque donation in the envelopes during or after the event, and the envelopes can be collected back and returned to us with any donations made. When used at funerals, funeral directors are familiar with collection envelopes and are often happy to send these back to us on your behalf.

Collection tins

If you would like collection tins we can send these ahead of the service or event and when you are ready to return them we can share a freepost address for you to use.

Pin badges

Some people like to order pin badges for family and friends to wear on the day of the service or event. The suggested donation amount is £1.00 per pin badge and any unsold pin badges can be returned to us using our freepost address, which we will share with you.

Order Gift Aid envelopes, collection tins and pin badges.

Sending donations in

Thank you for your support. We are so grateful for each and every donation made.

If you have any questions about sending donations to us, or you’d like to speak to our In Memory Giving team, please get in touch with Nancy Everson by phone 020 7960 3508 or by email fundinmemory@breastcancernow.org.

Sending donations in by post

We politely ask that no cash is sent through the post. Please make cheques payable to Breast Cancer Now.

Please send cheques with a covering note with your contact details and confirmation of who the donations are in memory of. This will enable us to send you a thank you letter for the gifts received.

If you have Gift Aid collection envelopes, please remove any cash and cheques from the envelopes. Please make sure the donation amount is written on the Gift Aid envelope, so we know how much Gift Aid the donor is claiming. The envelopes can be returned to us with the cheques and covering note to the address below.
