Writing your story

If you're unsure how to start writing about your story you can use our guide below. We'll send you a copy of your story to your email, as well as further literary inspiration from others affected by breast cancer.

If you prefer to write elsewhere, you can send us your story here.

Find a comfortable space

First, find a pen you like and some paper, or use your laptop, tablet or phone to write.

Find a quiet, comfortable space. This could be a chair, by a window, or outside in a garden or park.

Close your eyes and take a deep, slow breath in for four seconds then out for four seconds. Repeat this twice more.

Writing about your story

These questions are just to get you thinking. Before starting, have a think about why you want to write - perhaps to explore an emotion for yourself or to help explain something to someone else.

The space beneath each is unlimited, and you can write as much or as little as you like.
