The festive season is a busy time for our fundraising team! We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us this year and made it all worth it.
Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this December.
This year we have been asking you to send in messages of support with your donations. Every message has been written on a Christmas angel and displayed at our world-leading research centre at the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) in London, for our scientists to read and be inspired as they continue their vital work over the Christmas period.
Thank you to everybody who took the time to send us their message of support. If you’d like to share your message of hope, you can still do so.
Christmas Carol concert
On the 6 December, some of our wonderful supporters, volunteers, and staff gathered together at St Pancras Church, London, for an evening of carols, festive readings, and, of course, a mince pie or two.
Thank you to everyone who came - we had a wonderful evening and raised over £6,200 to help fund our life-saving research.
Our wonderful fundraisers
The festive season is a great time to organise your own fundraising.
Miriam has been getting crafty this Christmas – making handmade Christmas puddings, stockings and scarves, alongside a raffle at her school’s Christmas Fayre. So far she has raised over £200 (and counting!).
Thank you to Miriam, and every single one of you who have baked, run, quizzed, swum, and fundraised in your own unique way this year. We simply couldn’t do it without you!
Some fundraising of our own
Inspired by our hard-working supporters, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to try out some of these festive fundraising ideas, and raise some money in our office this month. Staff at the London office enjoyed a day of Christmas jumper wearing and a festive bake sale.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported us across December, and the whole of 2018. However you have chosen to support us this year, you’ve helped us get one year closer to a future where everyone who develops breast cancer will live – and live well.
If you're inspired to do some fundraising in 2019, we'll support you all the way and we love to hear your ideas.
From everybody at Breast Cancer Now, we wish you a wonderful festive season and a happy new year!
