Understanding Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide. Early detection through regular screening is crucial for successful treatment.
If a suspicious area is found, a biopsy may be performed. Treatment options may include chemotherapy, surgery, or other therapies.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses drugs to destroy cancer cells. It works by stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells.
Biopsy
A biopsy is the removal of a small amount of tissue for examination under a microscope. This is the only definitive way to determine whether a suspicious area is cancerous.
Mammogram
A mammogram is an X-ray picture of the breast used to check for breast cancer in women who have no signs or symptoms of the disease.
It can also be used if you have a lump or other sign of breast cancer.
