Your guide to fundraising offline

Not using JustGiving? No problem! Here’s everything you need to know about collecting cash at your event and paying in your fantastic fundraising.

Before your Afternoon Tea

Remind your guests to bring cash with them. Your Afternoon Tea is a great place for your guests to spend their loose change!

On the day

Collecting cash at your Afternoon Tea is as easy as 1-2-3. Simply pop your donation box somewhere visible and easy to access and watch it fill up!

If you’re planning a larger event, or you need extra donation boxes for a raffle, just head to our extra order website and add them to your basket. We’ll then send them straight to your door.

You can also download and print our jar labels to turn your own containers into donation boxes.

Remember to keep cash safe and never leave any unsecured money unattended.

Remember to use your Gift Aid form

Gift Aid is a brilliant way to boost your Afternoon Tea fundraising. Guests can increase the value of their donations by 25% and it doesn’t cost you or them a penny!

Top tips 

• Pop your Gift Aid form out next to your donation box and ask eligible guests to fill out the form. If you need any extras, you can download and print more at home.
• Selling cakes at your event? We recommend you ask for a suggested donation instead of a set price. This is because we can only claim Gift Aid on voluntary donations.

After your Afternoon Tea

When counting the cash raised at your Afternoon Tea, make sure to do so in a secure place and, where possible, ensure it’s counted by two unrelated people. See our terms and conditions for more information on money handling.

Paying in your cash donations Your certificate

• We’d recommend paying the money into your own bank account and then paying it in on our website at breastcancernow.org/afternoonteapay or by calling 0333 20 70 300.
• Alternatively, you could send a cheque made payable to ‘Breast Cancer Now’ to Freepost AFTERNOON TEA. Please include your contact details, along with your Afternoon Tea registration number.
• If you would like to pay the cash into the bank, please email us at afternoontea@breastcancernow.org so we can best advise you.

Your certificate

We’d collecting all donations yourself and sending your fundraising to us in one payment, as it can be difficult to match up donations when your guests donate to us directly.

Sending everything together means we can be sure to thank you properly for your amazing fundraising and get the amount right on your certificate!

Once we’ve received your donations, we’ll send you a certificate in the post as a thank you for all your hard work.
