Be part of research with NIHR

Category: Patient or loved one

Join the NIHR’s service, Be Part of Research, to hear about more ways to get involved in different studies and contribute to the development of life-changing treatment and support.

What’s the project about?

Every time someone receives support or treatment for a health condition or care need, it’s been made possible by the many people who have taken part in research. To improve health and care for all of us, and to find the life-changing treatments of the future, more people need to get involved in research.

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR)’s service, Be Part of Research, is an easy way for people to find out about and take part in research that interests them.

Who’s organising it?

Organisation: National Institute for Health and Care Research

Email address:  bepartofresearch@nihr.ac.uk

Who can take part?

The project is open to everyone interested in taking part in research.

Why do you want me to be involved?

To ensure everyone benefits from research, it’s important that everyone is represented. Taking part will help ensure that new treatments, tests, and services are suitable for you, your family, and your community.

What will you ask me to do?

The Be Part of Research Team would love for you to sign up to the service and choose the health conditions you’re interested in.

You’ll be matched to suitable studies and sent clear information about what’s involved so you can decide if you want to take part.

Before enrolling in a study, you'll also discuss the opportunity with the research team. They will check that the study is right for you and answer any questions you may have.

How do I get involved?

You can find out more and sign up by visiting the website.

When’s the deadline?

There’s no deadline to sign up for the service.
