Complete a survey about your experience of long term pain after breast cancer surgery to help researchers develop a clinical trial for a treatment for chronic pain.
Chronic (long term) pain after surgery can be difficult to treat, and have a negative ongoing impact.
Researchers are designing a clinical trial to test a treatment for long term pain after different types of surgery, including surgery for breast cancer.
To help them design the trial, they want to from people who’ve experienced long term pain after surgery so they can understand what’s important to you.
They’re inviting people to complete a survey, or attend an online session to share their experiences.
Name of project lead: John Findlay

Anyone who has had breast surgery can complete the survey.
For the online session, the researches would like to talk to anyone who’s experienced pain that went on longer than expected, and have tried (or would like to try) lidocaine plasters.
By taking part, you can help the researchers ensure that they’re asking the right questions to design a trial that’s right for people experiencing long term pain after surgery.
The researchers would like you to complete a short, anonymous survey about your experience of long term pain after breast survey.
If you want to be involved further, you can attend an hour-long online group session on Tuesday 10 June at 6.30pm. The session will take place over Zoom and you’ll be offered £25 (cash or voucher) to thank you for your time.
Please complete the survey.
If you’d like to attend the online session, or if you have any questions, can email John Findlay, at j.m.findlay@exeter.ac.uk.
So that the researchers can make sure the session is representative, when you email to sign up, please also provide the following information:
