Improving how you navigate our website

Category: Patient or loved one

Complete a survey to test a new design for our website navigation and help us make it easier for people to find information and support on our website.

What’s the project about?

As a charity, we offer a lot of support services and health information to people affected by breast cancer. Our website is an important way for people to find out about how we can support them.

However, we know that it isn’t always easy for people to find the information they need on our website. So, we’ve been running a project to improve this.

We’ve been looking at the options for people to navigate our website. We want to find the best way for people affected by breast cancer to find the information and support they need.

We’ve just finished our research phase of the project, and have now developed some different options for the website navigation.

We want to test these different options to see what you like or don’t like about the different options, and what works best.

Who’s organising it?

Name of project lead: Hannah Whiteley

Job title: Head of user experience

Organisation: Breast Cancer Now

Email address: hannah.whiteley@breastcancernow.org

Phone number: 07956 140 647

Who can take part?

This survey is open to anyone over the age of 18. We want to ensure we include people who have experience of

  • Breast health concerns
  • Primary breast cancer (including DCIS, stage 1, 2 and 3, and a local or regional occurrence of primary breast cancer)
  • Secondary breast cancer
  • Or are friends or family of someone who has been affected by breast cancer

Why do you want me to be involved?

By giving us feedback you can help us make sure that it’s easy for people affected by breast cancer to find information and support on our website.

This will reduce barriers to people accessing our life-saving services and information, and mean that we can be here for more people affected by breast cancer.

What will you ask me to do?

We’d like you to complete a survey known as a tree test. In the survey, you’ll be asked to trial the new navigation and find different bits of information on the website. There are about 8 different bits of information that we’ll ask you to find.

This will help us see how people find information, and whether what we’ve designed is easy to use.

Some of the information that you’ll be asked to find related directly to primary or secondary breast cancer, including health information and services.

You can leave the survey at any time.
