Review our new Somali health information translation

Categories: Patient or loved one | Somali speaker

Give us feedback on our new Somali translation of our Know your breasts booklet, and help us make sure that it's accurate and easy to understand.

What’s the project about?

Our know your breasts guide is a small, pocket-sized booklet which helps people be aware of and spot changes in their breasts. The guide is available in 15 languages (including English), meaning more people can be breast aware.

We’ve recently got it translated into Somali, and we need your help reviewing the booklet.

Who’s organising it?

Name of project lead: Katie Dibb

Job title: Health Information Officer

Organisation: Breast Cancer Now

Email address: katie.dibb@breastcancernow.org

Who can take part?

You can take part if you can speak or read Somali.

Why do you want me to be involved?

We are trying to make our health information accessible to as many communities as possible. Adding Somali into our translated information will help reach more people. And by reviewing it, you can help us make sure that the language is accurate and the information is easy to understand.

What will you ask me to do?

If you’d like to take part, we’ll send you a copy of translated booklet. We’ll ask you to read through to check for any spelling or grammar mistakes. We would also like to check that the medical information is explained clearly and easily understood.

How do I get involved?

If you’d like to take part, or have any questions, please email Katie at katie.dibb@breastcancernow.org.

When’s the deadline?

18 July 2025
