Review our new 'transgender people and breast cancer' health information

Category: Patient or loved one

Give us feedback on our new online health information about transgender people and breast cancer health, and help us make sure it’s accurate and inclusive.

What’s the project about?

We're developing new web content for transgender people. It will cover breast checking, screenings, and further support. We want to make sure the content is clear, informative and inclusive, so we can be here for transgender and non-binary people.

Who’s organising it?

Name of project lead: Ellen Millard

Job title: Senior health content editor

Organisation: Breast Cancer Now

Email address: ellen.millard@breastcancernow.org

Who can take part?

We'd ideally like people who are transgender or non-binary to review our new web content.

You do not have to have had breast cancer, as this page also focuses on breast checking, screening and further support.

Why do you want me to be involved?

By giving us your feedback, you will help shape our health information and ensure this new content is clear, relevant and inclusive.

What will you ask me to do?

We’d like you to review the draft information. This is a short document (4 pages). It covers

  • Breast or chest checking
  • Checking when you're experiencing body dysphoria
  • Breast screening and mammograms
  • Checking while breasts are growing
  • Breast implants
  • Hormone therapy
  • Breast checking after top surgery
  • Chest binding

We’d like you to read through the document and send us your feedback about whether you feel it’s accurate, whether the tone of voice is right, and whether you feel the information is inclusive.

How do I get involved?

If you're interested, or know someone you think would be willing to help, please email ellen.millard@breastcancernow.org

She will arrange for the document to be sent to you via email.

When’s the deadline?

31 July 2025
