Join Queen Mary University of London’s Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis (CSPED) Patient and Public Involvement pool to shape research into cancer screening, prevention and detection.
Queen Mary University of London’s Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis (CSPED) works to improve cancer screening, prevention and early detection. They run research studies and trials in different areas, such as cancer screening, early detection technologies, psychological impacts of screening, and existing cancer inequalities.
They’re looking for people with lived experience of cancer to join the group and help shape their research to make sure that it’s informed by, relevant to, and beneficial for people affected by cancer.
Anyone who’s been affected by cancer, whether from a personal diagnosis or as a carer or loved one.
It’s important that cancer research is informed by the diverse voices of people affected by cancer, so that it’s beneficial to everyone experiencing it.
By joining the Patient and Public Involvement pool, you can make sure that the voice of lived experienced is a central part of research into cancer detection and prevention.
You can sign up to the Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis involvement pool at any time.
You’ll be invited to get involved in specific research studies on an ad-hoc basis, and you can accept as many or as few as you like. You can find out more about getting involved on their website. As the group doesn't just cover breast cancer research, you could hear about opportunities which aren't specific to breast cancer.
Some opportunities will be online, and others will be in person. You’ll be paid £25 per hour (on average) for the opportunities you get involved in, and travel expenses will be reimbursed for in-person activities.
You can sign up through the website.
