About
Crissy is a psychotherapist, clinical lead and supervisor who alongside her private general therapy practice, specialises in supporting adults, children and families through the challenges of pre and post bereavement. Crissy has seen first-hand, how crucial it is that families of dependent children facing the death of a parent, have access to informed, empathic and non-judgemental guidance and support.
During her therapy career, Crissy has worked as a school counsellor, university student mental health mentor and within an NHS GP surgery. She supervises therapists and other health and educational professionals in groups, one to one and within organisations. In recent years, she has been the Practice and Placement Manager for a West London, low-cost counselling service and the Family Support Service Clinical Lead, for The Ruth Strauss Foundation, a charity which supports families facing the death of a parent from cancer.
What to expect
Memory boxes can be an invaluable aid in supporting a child to remember a parent, grandparent, guardian or loved one who has died. But by their very nature they often don’t, or can’t reflect, the wishes of that parent and what they would have chosen to include.
When you offer a child the chance to be involved in this very special process, or when you give yourself permission to do it your way, you create valuable opportunities to build new memories together. Whether you’re considering making a memory box for, or with your child, or if you feel you just can’t face the pressure, or even see the point, then this session is for you.
