Thank you for registering for Younger Women Together. We’re really looking forward to meeting you when you join us. To help you get ready, we’ve compiled a list of common questions and answers.

What can I expect?

Our 1 day events take place in accessible locations across the UK. They focus on small group discussions supported by expert speakers and nurses, as well as trained volunteers who experienced breast cancer as younger women. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and connect with others like you.  We provide all the meals and refreshments.

How many people will be at the event?

At in-person events, there’ll be up to 30 people.

What topics will we cover?

9.30 to 10.00: Registration including tea and coffee

10.00 to 10.30: Welcome and introduction - including icebreaker

10.30 to 12.00: Connect and share. Breakout sessions and an opportunity to connect with others who have a similar diagnosis

12.00 to 13.00: Lunch

13.00 to 14.15: Choose from one of the following break-out groups: Relationships and communication, menopause, intimacy and sexuality

14.15 to 14.30: Refreshments

14.30 to 15.30: Coping with change and uncertainty

15:30 to 16.15: Panel Q&A with Breast Cancer Now and volunteers

16.15 to 16.30: Closing session and evaluations

Are the events confidential?

All our events are confidential. The facilitator will create a safe and private space for everyone to share openly. And at the start of each session, we'll remind everyone that what’s shared in the group, stays in the group.

Is the venue accessible?

We hold all our in-person events in venues close to a train station and with car parking on-site or close by. Venues have accessible toilets and disabled car parking. Rooms are located on the ground floor or on the first floor with lift access.

Is there help accessing the service?

If you need support to take part in an in-person event, you can get in touch with our services support team on 0345 0771 893, or email servicesbusinesssupport@breastcancernow.org. We’ll do what we can to make sure you can take part.

What do other people say about Younger Women Together?

To meet other young women like me was amazing, as until that point I’d felt isolated. To speak to others with the same concerns and experiences was a real lifeline for me. Nearly 10 years on, I’m still in touch with the other women I met.

Are there refreshments?

At our in-person events, we provide all meals and refreshments free of charge. We provide tea, coffee, water and biscuits throughout the day.

If you have any dietary requirements, let us know when you register so we can make sure they’re catered for.

I have another question, can you help?

Absolutely. Whether your question hasn’t been answered here, or you’d like to know something in more detail, we’re here to help. Email us or call 0345 077 1893
