Help us design breast cancer support for everyone, anytime, anywhere

Join an online workshop to help us think about how we can make the support and information we offer more visible and accessible for everyone affected by breast cancer.

What’s the project about?

In September this year, we published our new strategy, Change Happens Now. In the strategy, we shared our direction for the next five years, including our 5 ‘Gamechangers’ – the big changes we want to see.

One of our Gamechangers is Support for everyone, anytime, anywhere.

We already offer support and information to thousands of people affected by breast cancer a year, through our health information and support services.

However, too many people tell us that they didn’t know about us – or found us too late. And there are many more people we don’t reach at all.

So, we want to think differently about how we show up for people affected by breast cancer, so that we’re more visible, accessible and approachable.

We’re holding a series of workshops so we can make sure that more people are hearing about the support we can offer. We want to consider how we could show up in different ways for people affected by breast cancer. And we want to hear from you.

Who’s organising it?

Name of project lead: Sarah Appleton

Job title: Senior involvement officer

Organisation: Breast Cancer Now

Email address: sarah.appleton@breastcancernow.org

Who can take part?

We’d like anyone affected by breast cancer to take part in this opportunity.

We’re especially keen to hear from

  • People who’ve had friends or family diagnosed with breast cancer
  • People at higher risk of breast cancer, either through a strong family history or through an inherited gene
  • People living with secondary breast cancer

Why do you want me to be involved?

By joining a workshop and sharing your views and experiences, you can help us understand what support people need from us, and how we can best reach people who we might not be reaching now.

What will you ask me to do?

We’d love for you to attend one of 2 online workshops. These workshops will last for 2 hours and we’ll be asking you to share your ideas on how we can make our information and support more visible, approachable and accessible. This could include:

  • How we could develop a simple route for people to access our support that works for everyone
  • Personalising the support we offer
  • Making the most of technology

The workshops will be held via Microsoft Teams on:

  • Monday 2 February from 2 to 4pm
  • Thursday 5 February from 10am to 12pm

If you can’t come to a workshop but would still like to contribute, you can take part in a different way, for example giving feedback over email, or a phone call, so please still fill in the form.

How do I get involved?

If you’d like to come to a workshop, please complete the expression of interest form.

In the form, you’ll be able to indicate which session you can attend, or whether you'd like to contribute in a different way.

In the form, we’ll also ask a bit about yourself to help us understand more about who’s attending, and to help us plan the session.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with Sarah at sarah.appleton@breastcancernow.org.

When’s the deadline?

22 January 2026
