Review our booklet and webpage on getting a breast prosthesis and ensure that the information is relevant, accessible and supportive for people making decisions after breast surgery.
What’s the project about?
We're updating our health information about breast prostheses, bras and clothes after breast surgery. This includes a booklet and web pages that give people deciding whether to get a prosthesis more information about them, as well as ideas for clothes and bras and other advice – including if you’ve chosen to live flat.
We're looking for people who use breast prostheses or who’ve chosen not to use one to review the draft update and give their feedback.
Who’s organising it?
Name of project lead: Isobel Sims
Job title: Health content editor
Organisation: Breast Cancer Now
Email address: health-info@breastcancernow.org
Who can take part?
You can take part if you’ve had a mastectomy for breast cancer and haven’t had a reconstruction. We’re wanting to hear from people who use a prosthesis, as well as people who’ve chosen not to.
Why do you want me to be involved?
By sharing your feedback, you can help us ensure that our information is accessible and relatable for people who are making decisions about their post-surgery options. This will help people feel informed and empowered about their choices.
What will you ask me to do?
We'll send you a draft of our updated booklet and ask you to give us feedback on it either by adding comments to the document itself or sending us your thoughts in an email.
We want to hear your feedback on the content and tone, and whether you feel it’ll be genuinely helpful for people preparing for breast surgery.
How do I get involved?
If you’d like to get involved, or have any questions, please email Isobel and health-info@breastcancernow.org. We'll follow up with more information and a copy of the booklet.
When’s the deadline?
28 February 2026
