What you can expect
A session all about understanding and dealing with anxiety after treatment for breast cancer. Sometimes we have the impression that once treatment is over, that should be it and everything should be hunky-dory, but that isn’t a fair expectation. Sometimes things catch up with us once everything slows down, and anxiety can be a big part of that. This session will cover:
- Understanding anxiety, how it shows up and why
- Thinking: it makes sense that someone might be anxious about further illness or recurrence after treatment, so what can we do when that is happening?
- Physical: how to recognise and deal with the physical symptoms anxiety brings
- Behaviour: looking at the things we tend to do when we are anxious, what works and what doesn’t
