Professor Thomas will give an overview of what chemotherapy is and when and how it is given. His talk will focus on the latest evidence-backed self-help strategies to mitigate potential side effects of chemotherapy.

About Professor Robert Thomas

Professor Robert Thomas is a Consultant Oncologist at Addenbrooke's and Bedford Cambridge University Hospitals specialising in Prostate and Breast cancer. He is a Clinical Teacher at Cambridge University, a regular health journalist for National World News, a Professor of Exercise and Nutritional science at the University of Bedfordshire and the author of the bestselling book "How to Live".

He was recently appointed head of Integrative Oncology for UCLH  where he advises patients and colleagues on evidence based lifestyle and nutritional strategies the the aim reducing the side effects and risks of cancer treatments and improving overall wellbeing and outcomes.


He also leads a Lifestyle Research Unit which designs and conducts national studies that evaluate the impact of lifestyle, gut health and dietary interventions on patients living with cancer. He was chief investigator of the recent national YourPhyto study and writes a regular blog for keep-healthy.com
