The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Breast Cancer (APPG on Breast Cancer) is a cross-party group made up of MPs and Peers. Breast Cancer Now provides the Secretariat to the APPG on Breast Cancer.

The aim of this group is to encourage dialogue between parliamentarians, government, the NHS and, most importantly, those living with or affected by the disease. It provides a space to discuss current issues in breast cancer care and advocates for positive change for patients.

The APPG on Breast Cancer plays an active role in parliament, raising issues on areas that affect breast cancer policy.

May 2026 - APPG on Breast Cancer Roundtable on the National Cancer Plan

On Monday 18 May 2026, the APPG on Breast Cancer met in the Houses of Parliament to discuss how topics, such as early diagnosis through screening, and support and treatments for metastatic breast cancer, can be achieved through the National Cancer Plan.

The discussion covered themes including breast screening uptake, how to reach at-risk populations, the need for infrastructure improvements, ensuring data on metastatic breast cancer is collected, and the need for patients to access the right treatment and care for them.

If you would like a more detailed summary or have any questions, please contact appg@breastcancer.org.

Past activity

In this letter, the APPG on Breast Cancer Chair called for drug companies to resubmit Enhertu under the new cost-effective thresholds. The aim was to break the deadlock, making Enhertu accessible for use on the NHS for those with HER2-low metastatic breast cancer.
