Wellbeing and support in Scotland after primary breast cancer
Complete a survey to help researchers understand how socio-economic status can impact someone’s wellbeing after primary breast cancer, and what support is needed.
What’s the title of the study?
The relationship between deprivation, self-management beliefs and well-being in people who have completed cancer treatment in Scotland.
What’s the project about?
We know that many different things can affect people’s experience of living with and beyond breast cancer. Where they live. How easily they can access health services or support. Concerns about money, family or health. All of these can impact people’s wellbeing, and have long term effects after people have finished treatment for primary breast cancer.
This study aims to understand how different factors, especially someone’s socio-economic status, can affect someone’s quality of life and wellbeing once they’ve finished treatment for primary breast cancer.
Who’s organising it?
Name of project lead: Theresa Campbell
Job title: Masters Student
Organisation: University of Stirling
Email address: thc00089@students.stir.ac.uk
Who can take part?
You can take part if you live in Scotland and have finished active treatment for primary breast cancer (you can still be taking hormonal therapy)
Why do you want me to be involved?
By taking part, you can help increase understanding of the factors that influence someone’s experience and wellbeing during and after primary breast cancer. This will help highlight gaps in support, and how they can be addressed.
What will you ask me to do?
You’ll be asked to complete an anonymous online survey. The survey will ask you some questions about you, your wellbeing and how you’re able to support yourself, and your quality of life.
It should take about 15 to 25 minutes to complete.
How do I get involved?
Please complete the survey. The participant information sheet and consent form are at the beginning of the survey.
If you have any questions, you can contact Theresa at thc00089@students.stir.ac.uk.
When’s the deadline?
