So many thanks to everyone involved with research into Breast Cancer, 20 years after my first diagnosis. Your amazing work means I have met 5 grandchildren and survived a second different Breast Cancer diagnosis 7 years ago! Thank you all

You are the people who save lives, who rebuild shattered families, who work hard day and night, who have the ideas for new therapies and the skills to create them. Dear researchers, thank you all for your dedication to finding a cure or improved treatment for the deadly cancer. You must feel as frustrated as all donors when after years pf hard work and the feeling of satisfaction NICE comes along and decides it is too expensive for NHS to use.
I’m sure that women to world over will wish to support your vital research into conquering this killer disease. We’re with you all the way. Doctor Turner and Team
Thank you all. From someone who has benefitted from targeted treatment for my breast cancer, which was made possible by your fantastic research. I’m excited by the prospect of a blood test which can detect cancer returning. That would be truly amazing!
The research you are doing is fantastic and gives so much hope to breast cancer sufferers. Carry on the good work. Happy Christmas to everyone.
Hello Professor Nicholas Turner and his research team. You all must be proud of what you have achieved. Please keep up finding good ways to beat cancer. Wishing you all a happy Christmas and a very good new year.
A million thanks for the great work you all do. Having had breast cancer, and chemotherapy, I hope that one day a cure can be found without the need for drugs that leave you with nasty side effects! Keep up the good work, and thank you again.
You are all amazing! And very much appreciated! You are shining stars! And make a massive difference. Be proud of yourselves. And, have a wonderful Christmas.
Please keep doing your research and trying to help eradicate this awful disease for women, including myself. The worry never goes away that the cancer will return. So your research is vital for thousands of women.
Wishing you all a happy and relaxing Christmas and new year. Warmest congratulations on all your achievements over the years. It is truly amazing how much new knowledge you have discovered and I am sure there will be many more exciting discoveries in the future. Thank you all for everything you have given us.
Hope is such a small word but it means a lot to an awful lot of people.
Please keep going. Your work is so valuable to us and you are so appreciated by Breast Cancer patients everywhere. Thank you and I wish you a very safe and happy Christmas! A Breast Cancer Survivor 4 years out! 🙏❤️🤗👏
Thank you for your dedication and hard work. I don’t know your faces but I know that your work has saved my life and continues to. There are not enough words to say how grateful I and millions of others are. Thank you and Christmas blessings to you and your families.
I hope this becomes available for us all as this life we now lead would be so much more normal.
I'm currently in the middle of treatment for breast cancer and the fear of a recurrence is already on my mind. Your work will make an enormous difference to so many people and their families. Thank you from the bottom of my heart x
No matter how small or may seem insignificant it’s huge!! it’s magnificent to someone who has no hope left and to have researchers working tirelessly to finding solutions means everything 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
I’m having treatment for primary breast cancer so hopefully will never get it again but very happy to learn that it can be diagnosed even earlier. If I hadn’t found my initial lump in my right breast and had an MRI then the triple negative cancer in my left wouldn’t have been found. Thanks to all of you 😊
Thank you for all the work you do and for the hope you give to all that one day hopefully not too far away cancer will be beaten. Our surgeons, nurses, oncologists and radiologists are all our lifeline at the moment but your work means they will be able to treat us and hopefully cure us much earlier. Thank you from me as I battle a third type of cancer in a year
Lovely researchers Without you dedicating your careers and your immense intelligence to developing cancer treatments, I wouldn’t be here today as a TNBC survivor. You are remarkable people and I will be thankful to you forever Merry Christmas x
Cannot put into words how grateful I am for the work you do. Not just for myself but also my children and future generations. There is no work more valuable ❤️
Thank you for all you do.. you have helped save my life.. I was diagnosed with TNBC in 2019. I had 6 months of chemotherapy using the , Partner trial. Merry Christmas team ❤️
I feel utterly blessed to have been diagnosed with breast cancer in this era of new discovery and your work brings me huge hope for the future generations of women to come after me, including my beautiful daughter. Thank you
Not all hero’s wear capes, some wear lab coats! Thank you for saving my life xxx
Hi, I've had treatment this year for primary breast cancer. The messages about secondary cancers and recurrence are so scary - thank you for helping to change the future for me xxxx
Very excited to hear about the blood test that can predict whether breast cancer might come back. I’d love to know more. Great work 👏👏👏👏
Thanks for all the wonderful research that you do. Merry Christmas
You are all so amazing. I have TNBC - bit of a feisty beast but I’m beating it so far thanks to your work. Thank you isn’t enough!
I recovered from breast cancer in 2023. My 80 year old Mum is just recovering from mastectomy surgery after her 3rd breast cancer in 3 years, this time it has spread to her lymph nodes and so she is now waiting for further surgery. This research discovery gives us both a beacon of light that there may be better treatment in the horizon to prevent her getting another and also test me to find out if I have a higher risk of a second diagnosis. Thank you for your research. I will be watching and hoping that it becomes available to people like me who are high risk for returning breast cancer.
Thank you for all your hard work to help make sure more people live. Eternally grateful. Thank you for giving us hope x
I have secondary breast cancer. I’m five years in and pray every night that you will continue your work and be successful in finding more and more treatments so people like me can carry on living ! Thank you with all my heart.
This is fantastic news about the blood. People like myself who have had breast cancer to know that there is a test that could be taken that would allow early detection is phenomenal! Well done x
Thank you for all you do! Being diagnosed with breast cancer at 28 was a shock but I’ve had the most incredible care and thanks to your research, there’s hope that if it does come back, there’ll be options to hopefully treat and cure. Thank you! ❤️
The research you do means that I have peace of mind of an uncertain future, after being diagnosed at 26 with breast cancer, knowing their is new research means I can breathe knowing there are safety nets should I ever need them in future! Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do 🙏
This is such positive news. I’ve recently had a left side mastectomy after breast cancer returned 13 years after my first diagnosis in the same breast. Thank you for all the wonderful research you carry out 🩷🎀
I have just read that you have discovered that a personalised blood test can detect breast cancer coming back so much earlier than any scan. This is so amazing! Speaking as a bc survivor, who is sometimes terrified of recurrence, this breakthrough is really quite phenomenal for so many people. I know that there is so much important work that you do and have done. I want to thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, and hope that you all have such a lovely time over the Christmas break. Thank you again.
Thank you so much for your amazing work! I'm living well five years after diagnosis and - as far as i know - cancer but knowing you're working on something which might save my life in the future by early detection of any recurrence is incredibly reassuring.
Hello Angels. I cannot stress how amazing this news is! As a BRCA1 carrier I know that my cancer will return, but when? This research could help many women like me and hopefully myself, to learn the reality we all fear. To know is a gift! Thank you for endlessly researching and keeping us aware and alive xx Truly angels xx Forever grateful x
You are doing the almighty's work and I hope you know how many good wishes and gratitude every single person who hears this news will shower upon you. You are the shining beacon of hope and kindness and no words are enough to thank you for your efforts and knowledge. God bless you all with abundance, health and infinite happiness!
Your work gives hope in the darkest place - it gives time and memory making to so many families. It gives hope to future generations, what a gift you hold in your hands.
I think this is fantastic news!! I had lobular cancer 10 years ago and whilst I try not to let the fear of recurrence take over my life it is always there in the background. I also work as a BCN and see first-hand how this feeling is very real. Having a blood test (if they can find my veins!) would be fantastic. Thank you 🙏
Wishing you all a wonderful and joyful Christmas. I was diagnosed with primary breast cancer in 2020, and while I am grateful for the treatment I received, the fear of recurrence still causes me significant anxiety. Reading about the incredible advancements, new treatments, and tests you are working on gives me hope—not only for myself but also for so many others who share these fears. Your dedication to your work is truly fantastic, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for everything you do. You are making a difference in so many lives, and that is something truly special. Wishing you all a peaceful holiday season and a very Happy New Year.
Thank you for all that you do, researchers! One day you will find the cure to breast cancer and other types of cancer. Don’t give up! ❤️🙏🏼
I’m a breast cancer research nurse in the NHS and your work means that we can deliver the best practice currently available to our patients. Without your lab work and early phase discoveries, we would be offering ground-breaking treatments to our patients. Thank you for your work!
Thank you so much for your life saving work. Such work is why I am alive today. Sending you love and blessings.
Thank you so much for all you do. Living in fear of my cancer returning and going through it again but my baby being old enough to understand is all consuming. Thank you for all the research into pioneering tests that can help alleviate these concerns. Wishing you the most amazing Christmas, you deserve it!
You clever, clever people are amazing and to those, like myself, who live with the risk of recurrence every day, words just just cannot begin to cover the gratitude I feel for all of you and the incredible work you do. Thank you so very much and I hope you all have the best Christmas! ❤️
Thank you 🙏 is too small a word for all the work you do - everyday. Recurrence is such a scary word which often dominates a BC survivors life after initial treatment. Your work on predicting this through a blood test will pave the way to helping patients wellbeing and mental health . Thank you so much for all you do. Merry Christmas.
Research means everything to me. My journey through breast cancer was made easier thanks to the drugs to combat side effects during treatment. Having bone infusions now will hopefully help me in combating any return in my bones and keep my bones healthy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart x
Give a Christmas gift
If you haven’t yet given a Christmas gift, but would like to, you can do that below. A gift of £20 could buy 500 tiny test tubes, allowing researchers to experiment with small samples.
