Rachel’s delicious cheese straw recipe has been passed down the family and everyone loves them! They’re quick and easy to bake and always a crowd-pleaser at events.
115g flour
85g grated cheese
55g baking margarine
1 egg yolk
A pinch of salt, pepper and cayenne pepper
100ml water
- Pop your oven on preheat at 190˚C whilst you prepare your cheese straws.
- Put all your dry ingredients in a bowl and add the water, start kneading the mixture together and it will soon start to form a pastry. Add extra water or flour to the mix if needed.
- Start to roll out your pastry on a floured surface and cut into straws.
- Cook your cheese straws for 10-15 minutes, until golden brown.
