The Grand Depart
Cycle the opening stage of the 2027 Tour de France a day before the professionals do and be part of cycling history. Starting in Edinburgh, you'll ride through the spectacular scenery and tackle the same climbs on one of the most iconic cycling routes in the world.
The exact route are subject to change based on safety assessments, road closures and accessibility so there may be minor deviations which will be confirmed closer to departure.
This event is organised by Discover Adventure. Different payment options are available for this challenge.

Payment options
Here are the different payment options available for The Grand Depart 2027:
Full Payment Option:
- Pay £149 as your registration fee today (this is non-refundable)
- Then £600 to Discover Adventure 8 weeks before departure
- If you wish to, you can still fundraise under this payment option without a fundraising target
Fundraising Option:
- Pay £149 as your registration fee today (this is non-refundable)
- Then £1,200 to Breast Cancer Now 10 weeks before departure
What's included
Accommodation & Food:
- 2 nights' single-room accommodation, Edinburgh area.
- Parking
- Carb-loading pre-night dinner and briefing
- Celebration dinner
On The Road:
- 1 day of cycling: stage 1 of Tour de France 2027
- Vehicle, mechanic and medical support
- Feed stations along the route
- Bike and rider transfer, finish to Edinburgh
Gear & Logistics:
- GPX File & Digital Map
- Pre-ride slideshow and briefing
- Bike storage

Support & Planning:

Not included:
- Pre-trip transport to accommodation

- Personal items such as drinks, extra snacks etc..
- Any applicable surcharges as per Terms and Conditions
