What’s the title of the study?

Family History Risk Screening

What’s the project about?

If you’re concerned about your family history of breast cancer, you may be eligible for a family history risk assessment. This assessment will be able to tell you, based on your family history, what your risk of developing breast cancer may be.

There are three possible levels of risk for breast cancer: general population risk, moderate risk, and high risk. People at moderate risk are at higher risk than the general population, but it’s still more likely they will not get breast cancer,

So, people at moderate risk are likely to be offered regular breast screening. In this project, researchers want to capture the views of people who’ve gone through the moderate risk pathway, and attended more frequent screening.

Who’s organising it?

Name of project lead: Emma Parry

Job title: User Researcher

Organisation: NHS England

Email address: emma.holmes11@nhs.net

Phone number: 07548602111

Who can take part?

You can take part if you have gone through the moderate risk pathway.

Why do you want me to be involved?

By capturing your views and experience of going through the breast screening risk services, NHS England will be able to better understand how people’s experiences can be improved.

What will you ask me to do?

We would like you to fill in an online survey. In the survey, you’ll be asked about your experiences of the breast screening risk services. The survey is anonymous and shouldn't take any longer than 5-10 minutes to complete.

At the end of the survey, there’s also an opportunity to join a panel which may be used for future research activities.

How do I get involved?

You can fill in the online survey.
