Representing Breast Cancer Now in your local community.
Our local representative volunteers represent Breast Cancer Now at events in their local community. This might be at a fundraising event, giving a talk to thank our supporters for donations. It might be posing with a cheque for a social media snap or running an information stand at a health and wellbeing event.

What will I be doing?
As a local representative volunteer, you’ll be going to events on an ad-hoc basis – when an event comes up in your area, we’ll send you the details and ask you if you’re interested. You might be:
- Giving short talks about the work of Breast Cancer Now and your own experience of breast cancer, if you feel comfortable
- Posing for photos for social media or local press
- Attending cheque presentations
- Chatting to others about Breast Cancer Now at events
- Running information stands
What skills and qualities do I need?
- You'll need to be a confident communicator with good interpersonal skills, able to communicate with different kinds of people
- An understanding of the impact that breast cancer can have on people, and of our work as a charity
- Reliability and good organisational skills
- A commitment to represent Breast Cancer Now in a professional manner, working within our policies and guidelines
What training and support will I receive?
- A contact within the volunteer hub to ask any questions
- An information pack filled with useful guidance and information
- You'll attend an online information session with the volunteer hub
- Breast Cancer Now will reimburse reasonable expenses in line with our expenses policy
What’s the time commitment?
This is a great role to have alongside other volunteer roles due to its flexibility or also works as standalone casual volunteer role.
The amount of volunteering you're asked to do depends on how many requests we receive for locations near you. Roles will be uploaded to the volunteer portal on an ad-hoc basis.
