Public health talks volunteer

Our public health talks cover important information about breast cancer, including:

• Key facts and figures
• Breast awareness and the importance of early detection
• Signs and symptoms
• What to do if you find a new or unusual change
• What you can do to help reduce your risk
• Myths and misconceptions associated with developing the disease

We're looking for individuals who are enthusiastic and motivated to make a real difference. As a confident public speaker, you'll have excellent communication skills and, if relevant, experience of using virtual conferencing platforms. You’ll be reliable, organised and self-sufficient with a commitment to represent Breast Cancer Now in a professional manner.

We give public health talks in communities to give important information about breast cancer. This includes:

• Key breast cancer facts and figures
• Breast awareness and the importance of early detection
• Signs and symptoms
• What to do if you find a new or unusual change
• What you can do to help reduce your risk
• Myths and misconceptions associated with developing the disease

You’ll be helping deliver the talk to the community.

By sharing our key prevention and early detection messages, you'll help us make sure more people access treatment and support services when needed, as soon as possible. As well as understand how they can help reduce their risk of breast cancer in the longer-term.

We're not currently recruiting public health talks volunteers. But you can register your interest by filling in our online form, mentioning your interest in public health talks volunteering. We'll get in touch when we're looking for new volunteers.
