Your impact - feedback from project leads

As Voices, you take part in lots of different opportunities, and have an incredible impact on research, care, and on how we do things as a charity. Here’s some of the feedback we’ve had over the past few months about your contribution to different projects.

Lucy Southall, Breast Cancer Now, AI workshops

"When considering the use of AI the Voices have helped us to understand what is important to our audience, what they are excited about and their concerns, this will help steer us and inform our future decisions."

“Voices helped to connect us to women who have a desire to improve patient experience for others.  Without Voices we wouldn't have been able to reach such a diverse group of women.  Thank you.”

It's been really great to work with the project group. It's allowed us to gain some really honest insight in to how we manage and recruit volunteers and how EDI fits alongside this. All sessions have been incredibly valuable and we've made many changes as a result of the discussions and feedback that has come from the group. It will help us to continue improving the way we diversify our volunteer pool.

Matt Armstrong, Loughborough University, Research study - Experiences of exercise after breast cancer

“It was important for this study to connect with the direct people involved, so I thank the Voices for the honest and detailed views and opinions on their experiences”

"Our Voices network were incredibly insightful in helping us shape how our questions were worded for our patient focus groups and what level of information and context we provided to ensure that people felt confident expressing their views."

Nikki Barraclough, Prevent Breast Cancer, Research conference

“The Voice panel member added the patient perspective to the session of the conference she participated in. She also added important insight into health inequalities and area of expertise she has worked in as well as her own lived experience. Her consideration and attention to detail ensured that she added considerable value and insight to the Dragons Den Session, which resulted in funding for research.”

I am so grateful to the people who came forward for my research project. Their openness, vulnerability and candour has made the project what it is. They have helped me to create a community of care around a topic which is still taboo within the cancer community.

Bianca Stileman, Breast Cancer Now, Ann Summers product testing

"Reaching out to the voices network was vital in this project as we are aiming to develop a new Ann Summer product that can support people with a breast cancer diagnosis in the sex and intimacy aspect of their personal lives. Having their involvement was key as we wanted to get their opinions and feedback to ensure the correct product was developed and released to the market."

“Thank you very much for providing your feedback in this survey. It has provided invaluable insight for our corporate partner’s refreshed range. We hope this will result in more post-surgery and mastectomy options.”
