In October 2005 at the age of 20 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a Lumpectomy, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and 5 years of Tamoxifen. Being diagnosed so young was hard as no one around me was going through the same thing so thankfully Breast Cancer Now were there to help me through. After getting so much help I decided to volunteer with them and over 9 years I was involved in various roles.

In June 2014 my daughter was born which made myself and my partner into a little family after being together during my diagnosis.

In August 2016 at the age of 31 I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in the opposite breast and had no connection to my first diagnosis. This time I had Chemotherapy, a double mastectomy and Radiotherapy. I currently live life flat from surgery as I have chosen not to have reconstruction. I have prosthesis but only wear them for special occasions. After this second diagnosis I stopped all volunteering to concentrate on myself.

In 2020 I was ready to return to being a volunteer for Breast Cancer Now, again supporting others affected by breast cancer.
