If you’re under 45 and you have secondary breast cancer, we’re here for you. Through Younger Women with Secondaries Together, you’ll meet other women who really understand what you’re going through.

About

If you’re a younger woman living with secondary breast cancer, you might feel isolated and invisible. But we see you. And we’re here for you.  

Younger Women with Secondaries Together gives you the chance to meet other women under 45 with secondary breast cancer. You’ll get to talk about what’s on your mind in a safe, welcoming space with people who really get it. 

Younger Women with Secondaries Together holds the following events:

  • Monthly online group sessions 
  • Online talks from expert speakers over 3 weeks  
  • 2-day overnight/residential events

FAQs

  • Are the events accessible?

    If you need support from us to take part, we’ll do our best to make reasonable adjustments.  You can talk to our services team by calling 0345 077 1893 or emailing  accessfund@breastcancernow.org 

  • Who runs the events?

    Breast Cancer Now staff run the events.  We’ll process your registration, send out any relevant information and every week someone from our services team or a qualified therapist will facilitate the session.   

  • What if I can’t make a session?

    We hope that you’ll join each session, but we understand that you may not be able to come along one week for various reasons.  If you can let us know you won’t be there, that’s great.  But we won’t get in touch to ask where you were. 

  • Do I have to speak or go on camera?

    If you can, please keep your camera on. It helps to make the group feel more connected. If your computer doesn’t have a camera, don’t worry, you can let us know in the chat. It’s fine to keep your microphone on, but if you’re in a noisy environment, please go on mute when you’re not speaking. 

  • Are the events confidential?

    Yes. The facilitator will help create a safe environment for everyone to be as open as they want to be and we ask all group members to keep the discussions confidential.  

  • How many people will be in the group?

    There’s usually between 6 and 10 women in the group. 

  • How many events do you hold a year?

    We run up to 3 online events a year. 

  • How can I ask questions? (to the experts and the oncologists)

    There’s plenty of opportunity to ask questions and you can use your microphone or the chat function. You can also send questions to us before the event and we’ll let you know how to do this. 

  • What if I don’t have Zoom or know how to use it?

    You’ll need Zoom to access our Younger Women with Secondaries Together online events.   We’ll send you some guidance about how to set up Zoom on your mobile phone, tablet or computer. And if you’re still having trouble, let us know and one of the team can call to talk you through it. 

  • Can I join a 4-week event, as well as online groups and 2-day face-to-face events?

    Yes, you’re welcome to register for any of our support services for people with secondary breast cancer.  You can join one of  our monthly online Living with Secondary Breast Cancer groups for all ages and/or the one we run just for women under 45.  You can also join our residential face-to-face event for women under 45 – we run a couple each year.  And you’re welcome to join one of our face-to-face Living with Secondary Breast Cancer groups in a location near you.
