About me

I was 36 when I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. To say my world fell apart would sum up my diagnosis.

However, at the time I had 2 very small children (two boys aged 6 and 1), and felt I had no choice but to carry on for their sake - and to keep everything as normal as I could in the circumstances, which wasn't easy. But the boys definitely helped me cope.

I had a lumpectomy and a week later found out I had to have my lymph nodes removed, as there was a trace of the disease there.

Following the 2 operations, I had 4 sessions of FEC every 3 weeks, followed by 12 weekly sessions of Taxol, and just under 4 weeks of radiotherapy.

The treatment was hard at times, and at the time there was no end in sight. But here I am, years on now and here to tell the tale, as they say.

I am more than happy for anyone to email me to ask questions or discuss any concerns they may have – I will do my best to help.
