Access fund
Our support services, such as Moving Forward courses and Living with Secondary Breast Cancer groups, are always free. But getting to them can still cost money. The Access Fund helps with the cost of attending an in-person Breast Cancer Now service.
Unfortunately, we can't help with travel or parking for hospital appointments or treatment, or with bills, food, household items or other living costs.
How we can help you access our services
We consider access needs on a case-by-case basis. If you are attending one of our services, here are some examples of how we can support you in attending our Breast Cancer Now services:
Booking and paying for a taxi to your local session
Reimbursing mileage, parking or other transport fees
Booking and paying for train fares
Booking and paying for accommodation if you’re travelling a long distance
Booking and paying for childcare if this is a barrier to you attending a course
Thanks to the Access Fund, I’ve been able to participate in monthly group meetings that are incredibly meaningful. Every month, I request transportation from the Access Fund team who promptly organise a taxi for me. The team is friendly, responsive, and helpful, giving me peace of mind. I’m very grateful for their support!
For service users
If you feel you need financial support to access one of our in person services, please call the Services Support Team on 0345 0771 893, or send us an email. We’re here to help.
If you are looking for general financial support, Macmillan has information about benefits and financial support for people with a cancer diagnosis. If you need help with transport costs, Macmillan has information about transport and parking.
There are also grants from other organisations like Glasspool where you may be able to apply for financial assistance. You can also find other avenues of support such as the support from Turn2us about grants and benefits. Please note there may be eligibility criteria.
For healthcare professionals
If there is a Breast cancer Now service you believe your patient would benefit from attending, but financially they may struggle getting there, we encourage you to refer them to the Access Fund. We're not able to fund travel to hospital appointments or treatment. Email the team or call 0345 077 1893.

ASDA Tickled Pink campaign
We're able to offer the Access Fund thanks to help from one of our key partners, Asda. Asda is our biggest and longest-running award-winning partnership.
The partnership has supported breast cancer charities for 30 years. Having raised over £90 million through their Tickled Pink campaign so far, the partnership unites Asda colleagues and customers nationwide. Their support makes it possible for us to offer services like the Access Fund.
