National Free Wills Network
As a member of the National Free Wills Network, we can offer people who live in the UK the opportunity to have their wills written free of charge.
The service is valid to make or amend a simple will, or simple mirror wills for couples.
There’s absolutely no obligation to include a gift to us in your will. However, we hope our supporters will consider this after loved ones have been provided for.
What happens next?
Fill in your details on our online form, and the National Free Wills Network will get in touch with details of solicitors in your area that are taking part in the scheme.
You’ll also receive a step-by-step guide to getting your will written or updated for free.

Have your will written for freeMyIntent, free online will service
If you’re looking for a convenient way to write or update your will, you can use our free online will-writing service, MyIntent.
This is offered through our partnership with Bequeathed, and it’s available to you if you live in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
Having an up-to-date will is the only way you can make sure the people and causes you care about are taken care of, after you’re gone.
There’s absolutely no obligation to include a gift to us in your will. But we do hope some people will consider this after loved ones have been provided for.
How do I get started?
To start, create your account with MyIntent and follow the simple steps to create a draft will.
You can make a start on your MyIntent journey right away. You just need to go online, register and complete the online will interview.
You’ll then get all the support and guidance you need throughout the will-writing process, including access to hundreds of articles and the ability to talk to someone online or over the phone at a time that suits you.
You’ll receive online legal advice tailored to your situation and wishes, in the form of recommendations or requirements from Bequeathed’s in-house solicitor.
You can book a free appointment to discuss any of these in more detail.
How much will it cost?
You won’t have to pay anything for a basic will, which is suitable for most people. If your circumstances are complex and you need more advice, the legal firm will explain what’s needed and give you a quote.
What happens next?
Once you’ve completed the writing process, you’ll get your will sent to you, along with instructions on how to sign it correctly in front of witnesses.
You’ll also receive a letter of advice summarising everything you’ve been told, and setting out what your will does and doesn’t do.
Start your free online will
Start it hereMyIntent, telephone alternative
The easiest way to get started on your MyIntent journey is online.
MyIntent’s online process is accessible and straightforward, and there's plenty of help and guidance available to support you through the process.
You can also ask a friend or family member to assist if you need extra support.
If you can’t go online to start your will, you can also start writing your MyIntent journey over the phone or on a video call.
How do I get started?
To start, book your telephone appointment with MyIntent.
Before setting up a call, you should know:
- You'll need to attend a follow-up appointment on a Zoom video call, so you’ll need to have access to a device with a video camera
- You’ll also need an email address, so that a confirmation of your appointment can be emailed to you, along with the options to reschedule or cancel
Once you’ve booked the call, you’ll get a confirmation email with a Zoom telephone number to call. Or if you prefer someone from MyIntent to call you, you can ask for that instead.
The call will last for up to 45 minutes. A member of the MyIntent team will talk you through the online will interview and complete it on your behalf.
You can then book a free 30-minute legal appointment to discuss your wishes further.

Leaving a gift to future generations
As with all our free will-writing services, there’s absolutely no obligation to include a gift to us in your will. But we do hope that some people will consider this after loved ones have been provided for.
A gift in your will can help make sure that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives and is supported to live well.
