Organising a funeral collection

Thank you so much for your interest in organising a collection. By raising funds in your loved one’s memory, you’re helping to create a brighter future for people affected by breast cancer.

Pink flowers

You can collect donations online or in person, with cash and cheques. You might want to consider both online and cash donations to give your family and friends the choice.

How do I organise a collection online?

You can collect donations online by setting up your personal tribute page in memory of your loved one. We recommend the platform MuchLoved – it’s quick and easy to use.

Once your page is live, you can then share your unique link with family and friends. They will be able to leave a donation, share their memories or light virtual candles, if they wish.

An online page makes easy to contribute even for those who can't attend on the day. Money collected online will be transferred to us automatically, so you won’t need to do anything else.

If you don’t have the confirmed details for the service yet, please don’t worry, can create the tribute page without the details and add them at a later stage.

How do I collect cash donations?

If you’re planning to collect cash donations and cheques, we can give you some fundraising materials to make this easier.

  • An envelope with a Gift Aid declaration form so that you can add Gift Aid to your donations. The form says Make your gift worth 25% more with Gift Aid at no extra cost to you, and has space to record your donation, your name and address.

    Gift Aid envelopes

These envelopes contain a Gift Aid declaration form and a freepost envelop to send your completed forms back to us. People can fill in the form and add Gift Aid to their donation as long as they're UK taxpayers. This could increase the value of donations by 25% at no extra cost to the person donating.

After your collection, post the completed Gift Aid forms back to us using the freepost envelope, along with a note with your details. Funeral directors might be able to help with this and post the cards on your behalf.

  • Breast Cancer Now paper pop-up collection donation box on a plain pink backdrop, with a hand putting money in the box.

    Collection boxes

We can send you a branded cardboard collection boxes to collect cash donations on the day, along with a poster to display. This way, you can let everyone attending know you’re collecting for Breast Cancer Now, and show them the impact their donations will have.
